Tichama!
Ghana’s non-profit ride-share is here.
Tichama means “let’s go” in Dagbani.

Coming soon to Android, iPhone and your browser. People on the early-bird list ride first.
Not for profit
Not for profit. For Ghana.
Tichama is run as a non-profit. Nobody earns a commission on your driver’s fare, and nobody pushes your price up when it rains. The fare is the true cost of the trip, split between the people in the car, and the app does the maths.
Whatever is left over goes back into safer, cheaper journeys: driver checks, the safety team, and lower fares.
Standing by the roadside. Is the next trotro coming?
The morning sun, a full trotro that does not stop, and no idea when the next one will.

How it works
Three taps. One shared ride.

Verified drivers, fare shown before you book.
Split the cost, pay easy
Mobile money or card.
Your empty seats can pay for your fuel.
- Post the route you already drive, on your own schedule
- Choose your pickup points and how far you will detour
- Fares are held safely until the trip ends, then paid to your mobile money or bank
- See who booked before you leave; carry only people you are comfortable with
Share the cost
One trip. Four friends. Everybody saves.
A whole car from Madina to Circle costs what it costs. Four people in it pay a quarter each, and the app works out the split before anyone books.
No surge. No hidden fees. The app splits the fare for you.
Good for Ghana’s air
Four cars on the road, or just one?
Every shared seat is a car that stayed at home: less fuel burned, less traffic on the Spintex road, less exhaust in the air your children breathe.
Fewer cars. Cleaner air.Comfort · Togetherness · Kindness
There’s always room for one more.
Ghanaians welcome people in, and we’ve built that into every ride. Share the seat, share the stories, share the cost.
We look after each other, all the way there
- Verified drivers Every driver proves who they are with a government ID, a licence and a matching selfie before their first ride.
- One-tap SOS Raise an alert during any trip and our safety team sees your location at once, and tells you when help is on the way.
- Share your trip Send a live link to family or a colleague and they follow the car on a map, in any browser, until you arrive.
- Protected fares Your fare is held until the trip ends and released to the driver only then. We never see or store your card details.
Rate every trip, report anything that was not right, block anyone you would rather not travel with again. Privacy policy.

Questions, answered
When does Tichama open?
Soon. The apps are being tested with a small group before we open to everyone. Join the early-bird list and we will tell you the day Tichama opens. People on the list are invited first.
What does non-profit mean here?
Tichama does not exist to make money from your journey. Nobody earns a commission on a driver’s fare, passengers pay the true cost of the trip split between the people in the car, and anything left over goes back into driver checks, the safety team and lower fares.
How do I book a seat?
Enter where you are leaving from and going to, pick a date, and choose a ride from the drivers heading that way. Select a pickup point near you, pay, and watch the driver approach live on the map.
How much does a ride cost?
Drivers set a price per seat within a fair range that reflects the journey, and you see it before you book. Because the cost is shared between everyone in the car, a seat is well under a taxi fare for the same route. No surge, no hidden fees.
How do I pay?
Top up your Tichama wallet by mobile money or card and pay from it, or pay directly at booking. Your fare is held until the trip completes. Regular commuters can buy a commuter pass.
How do I offer a ride?
Once Tichama opens: install Tichama Driver, verify your identity with a government ID, your licence and a selfie, add your vehicle, and post the route you already drive with your departure time, seats and price. Passengers book, you drive, and your fares land in your wallet after the trip.
Is my information safe?
We collect only what the service needs, encrypt what the app keeps on your phone, and let you delete some or all of your data without closing your account. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
How do I close my account?
From Profile in either app, choose Delete Account. Everything that identifies you is removed at once; records the law requires us to keep are retained only for the period it sets. Step-by-step instructions are on our account deletion page.
